The GMAW Fabrication Specialist position involves working in a local manufacturing shop in Ann Arbor, MI, where the focus is on precision welding and fabrication. The role requires setting up and operating MIG welding equipment while interpreting blueprints and ensuring high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare components by laying out, positioning, aligning, and fitting parts into welding fixtures per instructions and prints.
• Set up a gas-shielded MIG welder and weld to specification, ensuring strong, clean, and consistent beads.
• Interpret blueprints and welding symbols to guide every step of your work.
• Use hand tools, clamps, and grinders to prep, assemble, and finish parts.
• Perform basic maintenance on welding equipment to keep everything running smoothly.

Requirements

• 2+ years of MIG welding experience.
• Ability to read welding blueprints with confidence.
• Proficiency with a tape measure and production welding setups.
