Overview
The Welder position involves handling standard and non-standard railcar and non-railcar parts and components, shipping and receiving materials within a warehouse environment, and maintaining inventory and quality functions with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding functions (1G) to weld flat positions.
- Understand and handle the process of inventory control including shipping and receiving.
- Operate crane and hoists.
- Interpret blueprints and manufacture parts according to those drawings.
- Package, stage, and finalize paperwork for completed orders.
- Interpret and understand shop mathematics.
- Operate fork trucks.
- Operate various machines in the Richland facility as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, mathematics, and visualizing dimensions.
- Prior railcar experience preferred.
- Manufacturing/warehouse experience.
- Fork truck/crane certification or experience.
- Interpretation of blueprints preferred.
- Metal/alloy handling experience.

This position is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to weather, noise, and welding smoke.
