Job Description

Overview

The Welder position involves handling standard and non-standard railcar and non-railcar parts and components, shipping and receiving materials within a warehouse environment, and maintaining inventory and quality functions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding functions (1G) to weld flat positions.
  • Understand and handle the process of inventory control including shipping and receiving.
  • Operate crane and hoists.
  • Interpret blueprints and manufacture parts according to those drawings.
  • Package, stage, and finalize paperwork for completed orders.
  • Interpret and understand shop mathematics.
  • Operate fork trucks.
  • Operate various machines in the Richland facility as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of blueprint reading, mathematics, and visualizing dimensions.
  • Prior railcar experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing/warehouse experience.
  • Fork truck/crane certification or experience.
  • Interpretation of blueprints preferred.
  • Metal/alloy handling experience.

Additional Information

This position is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to weather, noise, and welding smoke.
