Overview
The Production Welder position is a full-time role on the 1st shift, responsible for tack welding and sub-arc welding of various metals to create sub-assemblies for cylinders and swivels. The position requires reading blueprints and following specific weld procedures under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Tack weld and sub arc weld parts per the appropriate weld procedure as supervised by a qualified welder.
- Read and interpret shop routings, work instructions, and elementary blueprints.
- Conduct computer functions on a day to day basis.
- Set-up the job per the appropriate weld procedures and work instructions.
- Perform general maintenance such as changing tips, liners, wire, gas, etc.
- Clean and inspect all finished sub-assemblies and receive final approval by a qualified welder.
- Store finished sub-assemblies and unused parts per proper procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma.
- Currently enrolled in Vocational/Technical school for welding or some welding experience preferred.
- Flux core, sub-arc and MIG experience preferred.
- Must be able to read blueprints.
- Manufacturing experience.
