Job Description

Overview

The Rigger is responsible for aiding employees or clients in loading material, equipment, and supplies in a safe manner, working in various environments including onshore, offshore, and international settings.

Responsibilities

  • Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving using hand and power tools.
  • Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures using appropriate bolts and clamps.
  • Control the movement of heavy equipment or material through narrow openings or confined spaces.
  • Manipulate rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move or support equipment or materials.
  • Signal or verbally direct individuals engaged in hoisting and moving loads.
  • Test rigging equipment routinely.
  • Assist welders or fitters in grinding, leveling, and preparing materials to be installed.
  • Perform fire watch when required.
  • Maintain clean working areas and practice good housekeeping.
  • Dismantle, clean, and return tools and equipment to proper place after use.
  • Obey and follow all safety rules and policies.
  • Wear all appropriate safety equipment (PPE).
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by manager and/or supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • 1+ year rigging experience preferred.
  • Basic level written and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform basic level mathematical skills.
  • Experience operating equipment used in rigging procedures.
  • Must be reliable and have good time management skills.
  • For new hires, must meet all Performance Energy Services employment qualifications in force at time of hiring, including successful completion of a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen.
  • For new hires, must successfully complete all required training by Performance Energy Services.
