Overview

The WELDER LEADER position is located in the Machine Shop Branch of the Naval Foundry and Propeller Center at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. The role involves providing technical direction to welders and performing various welding processes for naval vessel components.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction to welders, shipfitters, and helpers.
• Perform electric arc welding using processes such as MIG, TIG, and shielded electrode.
• Utilize gauges, tools, and equipment used in the welder trade.
• Inform supervision of work progress and status, including potential work problems and delays.
