Overview
The Pipefitter position at the Bath VA Medical Center in Bath, NY involves modifying, maintaining, and repairing various piping systems. The role requires a range of skills in plumbing and steam fitting within a healthcare facility.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, adjust, clean, and repair plumbing fixtures and systems.
- Maintain steam operated equipment, heating and water systems.
- Repair kitchen and laundry equipment, air compressors, and medical compressed air systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections of utility systems.
- Apply steam fitting and pipefitting methods to solve on-site issues.
- Interpret and apply building plans and blueprints.
- Utilize shop mathematics for layout tasks.
- Conduct repairs and installations in hard-to-reach places.
- Test systems for proper circulation, flow, pressure, and drainage.
- Diagnose plumbing system malfunctions and make repairs or modifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
