Overview

The Smithsonian Institution is the world's largest museum, education, and research complex, responsible for all Smithsonian facilities, many of which are historic and visited by millions. The Pipefitter position involves performing maintenance, repairs, and installations for various utility distribution systems.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and installations for utility distribution systems.
Install, troubleshoot, modify, and repair utility, supply, and disposal systems.
Work with materials such as aluminum, copper, iron, nylon, lead, vinyl, PVC, and rubber.
Operate power and hand tools used in pipefitting and drainage cleaning systems.
