Overview

The PIPEFITTER SUPERVISOR will oversee operations in the PIPE SHOP of the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT at PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD, ensuring compliance and encouraging employee participation in improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Recommend approval of normal leave requests and forward unusual requests with recommendations to higher-level supervision.
• Discipline subordinates and institute necessary corrective action to assure compliance with regulations.
• Encourage participation and assist employees in filing beneficial suggestions, cost reduction, and promotional opportunities.
• Ensure that necessary progress and other records are available for higher management use in area of responsibility.
