Overview

RTX is the world's largest aerospace and defense company, seeking a Welder/Brazer 2 to perform advanced welding operations for aircraft engine components. The role involves working onsite in Clayville, NY, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the production process.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand and machine fusion welding operations to construct powder containers.
• Conduct routine maintenance on equipment to optimize uptime.
• Prepare parts for fabrication through grinding, polishing, and cleaning.
• Fabricate stainless steel extrusion cans.
• Seal and prepare cans for shipment.
• Comply with company rules and regulations.
• Support continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
• Utilize basic computer skills for operational tasks.
• Demonstrate understanding of shop mathematics.
• Problem solve minor fabrication and equipment issues.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year relevant experience.
• Strong attendance record.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work hours outside of the regular shift.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to wear a respirator.
• Physical ability to ascend/descend stairs, stand for extended periods, bend, squat, twist, reach overhead, and lift up to 25 pounds.
