Overview

Saulsbury Industries is seeking a Pipeline Welding Inspector to ensure the quality of work on a 12-mile pipeline project in the Permian Basin / Pecos, Texas. The inspector will report to the Site Quality Manager and Project Manager, applying their skills to inspect materials and equipment for conformance to specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures.
  • Inspect and ensure the quality of work performed during daily activities on a 12-mile pipeline project.
  • Have a working knowledge of the code(s) of construction being used for the project.
  • Demonstrate good organizational, planning and time management skills.
  • Conduct daily activities in a highly organized manner to ensure all QC data are properly recorded.
  • Monitor and record all work as required by the Quality Inspection Test Plan (QITP).
  • Prevent deficiencies through pre-construction quality control inspections.
  • Detect and address deficiencies in a timely manner.
  • Inspect the work and establish punch lists.
  • Ensure daily quality task schedules are met to adhere to the project schedule.
  • Work closely with the Client and field quality staff as their field representative.
  • Interface with field supervision to maintain open communication.
  • Interact cross-functionally with craft personnel and other team members.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records during inspections.
  • Determine the calibration status of measuring and test equipment.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • AWS CWI Certification (Required)
  • API 1169 Certification (Preferred)
  • Pipeline coating experience required (AMPP/NACE not mandatory)
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record (Required)
  • Pass a background check (Required)
  • Pre-employment drug test and quarterly random drug testing (Required)
  • 2 or more years of Oil/Gas/or Pipeline experience (Preferred)
  • 2 or more years of verifiable QA/QC or NDE experience (Preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Preferred)

Additional Information

  • Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends.
  • Typical work hours range from 40 to 60 hours per week, 5-6 days per week.
