Overview

The Welder Entry Level position is designed for motivated individuals to learn and grow in welding within the Irrigation Operations division, constructing products according to specifications.

Responsibilities

• Participate in training for basic production welding skills including blueprint reading and shop safety.
• Fuse or weld metal structural components together using arc welding.
• Perform welding operations with limited planning from blueprints or specifications.
• Utilize safety devices and wear personal protective equipment.
• Adjust welding equipment to prescribed settings.
• Maintain and operate production tooling and welding equipment safely.
• Read and complete labor reporting system and standard shop forms.
• Perform minor welding machine maintenance.
• Use labor reporting system and fill out move tags.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to use a tape measure.
• Demonstrated commitment to learning welding in a production environment.
• Ability to accurately read a measuring tape.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to communicate positively with coworkers.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to complete an onsite welding assessment.
• Ability to work over ten hours a week of overtime when required.
• High awareness for safety at all times.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred.
• American Welding Society (AWS) welding certification preferred.
• Six months of previous hands-on welding experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints without assistance preferred.

• Day Shift: Monday-Friday from 6:00 am-4:00 pm
• Night Shift: Monday-Friday from 8:00 pm-6:00 am
