Overview
Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company focused on advancing agricultural productivity and reimagining vital infrastructure. The Small Pole Fitter Welder position involves assembling products by tack welding various small parts to pole shafts using the FCAW welding process under the supervision of the Production Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Use GMAW process to tack weld small components to shafts for pole assembly.
- Manually position shafts and lift components using a jib crane.
- Read and interpret drawings to determine parts needed for assembly.
- Use plasma torch to cut steel and jigs for cutting holes in shafts.
- Measure distances and angles using measuring tools.
- Work in confined areas to assemble components accurately.
- Use motorized grinders, buffers, and drills in the assembly process.
- Maintain necessary professional competencies and certifications.
- Communicate training needs to management.
Requirements
- Must be able to read and write English.
- Ability to use common manufacturing math.
- 1 year experience reading and using blueprints.
- 1 year previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment, or graduation from a Technical Training Program focused in welding.
- Must pass FCAW weld test and maintain certification.

Additional Information
- Shift: 2nd shift (Evenings) Monday - Friday 3PM - 11PM.
- Work hours may be required outside the standard shift schedule.
