Overview
Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company that impacts millions globally through technology that enhances agricultural productivity and infrastructure. The Submerged Arc Seam Welder position involves setting up and operating welding machines to create continuous seamed welds on steel electrical poles.
Responsibilities
- Fuse metal structural components together using Submerged Arc Welding processes.
- Perform welding operations from blueprints and specifications, requiring knowledge of welding properties.
- Conduct repetitive assembling operations and use hand tools and measuring devices.
- Move pole shafts using an overhead crane and gather parts and materials for projects.
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an internal welding test.
- Working knowledge of fixturing and weld setup parameters.
- Knowledge of welding properties of various metals.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
- Ability to set up work and determine operation sequences.
- Ability to calculate formulas using basic mathematics.
- Ability to recognize and solve practical problems.
- Ability to work in a team environment with diverse individuals.
- Ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions.
- Ability to meet production, safety, and quality standards.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, frequently lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment.

- Days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- 36 hours worked - Paid for 40 hours
- Training Hours: 5:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Thursday
- Starting Wage $26.32
