Overview
Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company that impacts millions globally through its technology in agriculture, energy, and infrastructure. The Submerged Arc Seam Welder is responsible for operating welding machines to create seamed welds on pole shafts, working in a diverse team environment.
Responsibilities
- Fuse metal structural components using Submerged Arc Welding processes.
- Perform welding operations from blueprints and specifications.
- Conduct repetitive assembling operations using hand tools and measuring devices.
- Move pole shafts using an overhead crane.
- Maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an internal welding test.
- Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters.
- Knowledge of welding properties of various metals.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
- Ability to set up work and determine operation sequence.
- Ability to calculate formulas using basic mathematics.
- Ability to recognize and solve practical problems.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Additional Information
- Evening shift from 4:00 pm to 2:30 am, Monday to Saturday.
- Starting wage of $26.32/hr plus $1.50/hr shift differential.
