SPX Technologies is a global company that builds innovative solutions for a safer and more efficient world. The Welder position involves performing welding operations to assemble and secure sheet metal for electrical and industrial equipment, contributing to the Electric Heat business.
Responsibilities
- Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications.
- Welds or tack welds metal parts together, using tig welding, mig welding, or spot welding equipment.
- Removes rough spots from workpiece, using grinder, sander, or saw.
- May be trained and tested to be ASME certified.
Requirements
- One to three months related experience and/or training.
- Ability to correctly read a tape measure.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of tig welding, mig welding, and spot welding equipment and techniques.
- Tig welding, Mig welding, and stick welding certification preferred.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

- Employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
