Overview

Bigge Crane and Rigging has been elevating America since 1916, operating one of the largest crane fleets in the country. The Welder will focus on repairing and maintaining crane equipment and various types of forklifts.

Responsibilities

  • Cutting and welding plate and pipe.
  • Minor and major fabrication projects for trucks, trailers, cranes, and other equipment.
  • Lattice boom repair including removing and replacing boom lacings.
  • Perform boom and lacing inspections as per manufacturer specifications.
  • Conduct competent inspections of all cranes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years experience in welding and/or metal fabrication.
  • Proficient in stick and MIG welding activities.
  • Aluminum and TIG welding is a plus.
  • 3G and 4G certifications are required; 6G certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Willing to train and test to become 6G certified.
  • Ability to perform tasks independently without direct supervision.
  • Computer literate with the ability to process information.
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to quality.
  • A history of safe work habits.
  • Must supply own hand tools and maintain an up-to-date tool inventory.
  • Clean driving record and ability to drive a company truck.
  • Willing to train and test to become Level I & II NDT certified for VT, PT, and MP testing.
  • Willing to work overtime including late evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Must work safely and follow all Bigge safety procedures.
  • Capable of running various power tools.
  • Able to read and work off of fabrication drawings.
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
