Overview

The Welding Technician-HCC is responsible for safely handling and processing metal parts through various welding functions, primarily focusing on high-precision TIG/MIG welding of stainless steel, aluminum, and steel components. The role requires collaboration with senior welders and adherence to safety protocols while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Safely handle, position, and process metal parts for welding functions.
  • Review technical drawings and work orders to understand material and welding requirements.
  • Set up and secure parts using jigs and fixtures for accurate tolerance.
  • Produce clean welds with minimal distortion for efficient finishing.
  • Visually inspect welds and use measuring tools to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Protect parts before and after welding using appropriate materials.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to complete orders and mentor assistant technicians.
  • Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of welding areas.
  • Work with safety personnel to identify and eliminate hazards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and health regulations.
  • Maintain accurate production records.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent or relevant work experience.
  • 3-5 years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong proficiency in TIG/MIG welding on thin materials.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Forklift operation certificate is desirable.
  • Basic to intermediate computer and math skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Self-motivated and dependable team player with good communication skills.
