Overview
The Welding Technician-HCC is responsible for safely handling and processing metal parts through various welding functions, primarily focusing on high-precision TIG/MIG welding of stainless steel, aluminum, and steel components. The role requires collaboration with senior welders and adherence to safety protocols while maintaining quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Safely handle, position, and process metal parts for welding functions.
- Review technical drawings and work orders to understand material and welding requirements.
- Set up and secure parts using jigs and fixtures for accurate tolerance.
- Produce clean welds with minimal distortion for efficient finishing.
- Visually inspect welds and use measuring tools to ensure compliance with standards.
- Protect parts before and after welding using appropriate materials.
- Collaborate with senior staff to complete orders and mentor assistant technicians.
- Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of welding areas.
- Work with safety personnel to identify and eliminate hazards.
- Adhere to safety protocols and health regulations.
- Maintain accurate production records.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent or relevant work experience.
- 3-5 years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in TIG/MIG welding on thin materials.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Forklift operation certificate is desirable.
- Basic to intermediate computer and math skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Self-motivated and dependable team player with good communication skills.
