Overview
Coach USA is hiring skilled Fleet Diesel Mechanics for the HudsonLink service, which provides over 500,000 passenger rides annually between Rockland County and Westchester County. The role involves diagnosing and repairing diesel engines while ensuring passenger safety and vehicle reliability.
Responsibilities
- Utilize diagnostic tools to identify issues with mechanical, electrical, and other breakdowns and failures.
- Perform necessary repairs on diesel engines, including removal, installation, disassembly, and reconditioning of components.
- Conduct routine and preventative maintenance according to manufacturers' specifications.
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance work meets or exceeds industry standards.
- Complete test drives to ensure all repaired vehicles run correctly and safely.
- Write detailed inspection reports and repair plans.
- Maintain electronic maintenance logs.
- Adhere to all workplace safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements
- Solid background in diesel mechanics with experience working on Cummins and Detroit engines.
- ASE Diesel Certification or associate degree in diesel technology is highly regarded but not mandatory.
- Willingness to obtain a CDL.
- Adept at troubleshooting and implementing solutions to mechanical issues.
- Computer diagnostic skills are a plus, but training is provided.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions, including outdoors.
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Experience in the Motor Coach Industry preferred.
- Possess the necessary toolkit to carry out maintenance duties independently.
