Overview
Cox Fleet, headquartered in Indianapolis, is one of the largest fleet maintenance companies in the country, providing mobile on-site maintenance and repair services for light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers. They are currently hiring a Light/Medium Duty Automotive Technician to perform various maintenance and repair tasks at customer locations.
Responsibilities
- Follow and comply with safe operating practices and procedures.
- Travel to and perform work at customer locations, primarily outdoors.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light and medium vehicles in the field.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, and some Diesel tools, lifts, and jacks.
- Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various types of customer vehicles, trucks, and equipment.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of vehicles, trucks, and equipment.
- Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
- Independently determine parts required for each job and order them.
- Document work performed, parts used, and findings observed on Repair Orders.
- Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and assist in cleanup at the end of each day.
- Apply knowledge acquired through training or experience to perform job duties.
- Work with the support team to assess customer needs and resolve issues.
- Manage concurrent assigned tasks and prioritize work activities.
- Act with integrity and maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain a high level of productivity and work within Standard Repair Times.
- Communicate with corporate support team regarding repair estimates and findings.
- Participate in all required safety training.
- Maintain assigned service vehicle and conduct safety checks.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for job duties.
- Minimum of one year of experience as an Automotive Technician on light/medium vehicle repair or equivalent.
- Two years of equivalent experience in a similar Technician role.
- Participate in and complete all required company training.
Additional Information
- Travel is required 100% of the time.
- Rotating schedule of Mon-Fri the first week and Mon-Sat the second week.
- This is a Flat Rate Position with an abundance of work available.
