Overview

GTI is a contract manufacturing partner that supports customers in renewable energy, power generation, infrastructure, and industrial systems. They fabricate custom designed enclosures and skids, performing mechanical and electrical integration in-house to deliver turn-key products.

Responsibilities

  • Fit, tack, and weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and low-alloy steel using MIG/GMAW, TIG/GTAW, and manual welding techniques.
  • Weld assemblies, sub-assemblies, brackets, channels, angles, and modular components per engineering drawings.
  • Prepare welds using grinders, saws, and welding tools; perform vertical (3G), overhead (4F), horizontal, and flat welds.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, detail drawings, and fabrication schematics.
  • Measure, cut, and layout materials using calipers, squares, tape measures, and fabrication tools.
  • Determine proper weld processes, joint designs, and equipment settings per job specifications.
  • Fabricate fixtures and support tools based on engineering sketches.
  • Assemble welded components into larger structures, platforms, frames, or modular units.
  • Perform mechanical assembly as needed on production builds.
  • Inspect welds for accuracy, penetration, and quality.
  • Repair, rework, or correct fabrication issues and dimensional deviations.
  • Verify tolerances and inspect final assemblies for structural integrity.
  • Meet production targets, quality standards, and labor-hour requirements during 2nd shift operations.
  • Maintain welding machinery, tools, and PPE in safe working condition.
  • Follow OSHA rules, AWS standards, and internal safety guidelines.
  • Complete shop order documentation, time sheets, and necessary reports.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Welder, Fabricator, MIG Welder, TIG Welder, or Industrial Welder.
  • Skilled in MIG, TIG, Stick, GMAW, GTAW, and related welding processes.
  • Experience using electrical and manual tools (angle grinders, saws, calipers, clamps, squares, measuring tools).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and welding blueprints.
  • Knowledge of welding safety standards, weld quality requirements, and inspection practices.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, overhead work, and climbing.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
