Overview

This position is responsible for the installation and repairs of various types of truck equipment for municipal, industrial, commercial, and private industries.

Responsibilities

  • Install various types of truck equipment, including dump bodies, roll off hoists, flatbeds, snow and ice equipment, hydraulic wet kits, and auxiliary axles.
  • Ensure that all welds meet quality assurance standards.
  • Determine appropriate welds per customer specifications.
  • Attend product and technical training courses as requested by the sales manager.
  • Stay up-to-date on new products and services within the industry.
  • Prepare parts by cutting, grinding, and sanding.
  • Read, comprehend, and execute ROs and blueprints.
  • Work with supervisor to understand proper job order procedures.
  • Follow up on project accuracy and detail to ensure the end product meets customer orders or bid specifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Three to five years of welding experience in MIG, TIG, or Stick.
  • Possess a technical understanding of Class 7 and Class 8 diesel truck chassis.
  • Must understand chassis specification data and chassis design drawings and dimensions.
  • Strong knowledge of equipment hydraulic applications, air, and electrical circuit applications.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and manuals.
  • Ability to write reports and effectively present information.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions.
  • Valid driver's license/CDL license preferred.
