Overview
This position is responsible for the installation and repairs of various types of truck equipment for municipal, industrial, commercial, and private industries.
Responsibilities
- Install various types of truck equipment, including dump bodies, roll off hoists, flatbeds, snow and ice equipment, hydraulic wet kits, and auxiliary axles.
- Ensure that all welds meet quality assurance standards.
- Determine appropriate welds per customer specifications.
- Attend product and technical training courses as requested by the sales manager.
- Stay up-to-date on new products and services within the industry.
- Prepare parts by cutting, grinding, and sanding.
- Read, comprehend, and execute ROs and blueprints.
- Work with supervisor to understand proper job order procedures.
- Follow up on project accuracy and detail to ensure the end product meets customer orders or bid specifications.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Three to five years of welding experience in MIG, TIG, or Stick.
- Possess a technical understanding of Class 7 and Class 8 diesel truck chassis.
- Must understand chassis specification data and chassis design drawings and dimensions.
- Strong knowledge of equipment hydraulic applications, air, and electrical circuit applications.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and manuals.
- Ability to write reports and effectively present information.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions.
- Valid driver's license/CDL license preferred.
