Overview
The Fleet Mechanic performs skilled diagnostic, maintenance, and repair work on a variety of municipal vehicles and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This position services gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles, light and heavy-duty trucks, emergency response vehicles, construction equipment, transit buses, and other municipal fleet assets.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic, maintenance, and repair work on municipal vehicles and equipment.
- Service gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety and customer service.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Five years of experience in automotive, heavy-duty truck, and equipment or transit bus mechanics and maintenance.
- Valid, unrestricted driver's license with no major citations in the past 39 months.
- Complete set of hand and power tools in compliance with the Fleet Minimum Inventory Requirement.
- Residency in the State of Arizona during active employment.
