Overview
USPI Arizona Specialty Hospital is hiring a Full-Time Facilities Department Lead to perform preventive maintenance duties and provide leadership to the Facilities Department, aiming to improve healthcare delivery in Maricopa County.
Responsibilities
- Inspect equipment and facility for proper operation and working conditions.
- Maintain MSDS online program monthly update.
- Review departmental utilization and complete work orders in WorxHub program.
- Assist in providing complete documentation, records, and reports as required by the hospital’s Quality Department.
- Collect documentation related to projects being completed on campus and provide them to the Hospitality Services Director.
- Report serious problems to the Director for further instructions or maintenance scheduling.
- Maintain bi-weekly department work schedule.
- Review monthly PM logs to ensure they are complete.
- Troubleshoot compressors, condensers, and controls on refrigeration and other equipment.
- Use tools to open clogged drains.
- Troubleshoot and make repairs to TVs and nurse call systems.
- Use standard hand tools and equipment for general mechanical maintenance.
- Perform routine manual duties such as repairs and assembling equipment.
- Conduct routine safety and preventive maintenance programs.
- Patch and paint walls and other surfaces.
- Assist Hospitality Director in maintaining department policies and procedures.
- Participate in education and professional growth programs.
- Maintain a professional attitude with patients and staff.
- Work a flex schedule and be available for call-backs for emergencies.
- Participate in the Environment of Care Utilities program and emergency management program.
- Assist in documented monthly education and employee development program for Facilities staff.
Requirements
- High school, technical or electrical trade school graduate.
- Two years’ experience in general maintenance.
- General knowledge of plant maintenance.
- Knowledge of tools and their use.
- Ability to work independently and have excellent problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of equipment used in hospitals preferred.
- Ability to read schematics, manuals, and blueprints preferred.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work with little supervision and take verbal instructions.
