Overview

The Welding Leadman is responsible for enhancing operational efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction by managing a production line from raw materials to finished products. This role reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Prepares production equipment for operation by making setup adjustments and assisting with changeovers.
• Maintains quality standards by conducting inspections and completing production control charts.
• Trains others on production job responsibilities by demonstrating operational procedures.
• Solves production process problems and makes necessary equipment adjustments.
• Follows policies and procedures to maintain production operations.
• Ensures equipment operation by adhering to preventative maintenance policies.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with regulations.
• Contributes to team efforts by cooperating with team members and accepting re-assignments.

Requirements

• 2+ years experience in a team, line lead, or supervisory position within an industrial or distribution environment.
• 1+ years experience in a metal service center.
• High School diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and guide others.
• Superior problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to manage changing priorities and multiple tasks.
• Must be reliable and punctual.
• Ability to effectively communicate with people.
• Ability to read and interpret data and draw valid conclusions.
