The Fleet Mechanic 2 role involves maintaining and repairing the company's fleet equipment, including diesel and gasoline trucks, trailers, and forklifts.
Responsibilities
- Perform various preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on all types of fleet equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electronic malfunctions, perform repairs, and rebuild/replace major equipment components.
- Perform emergency roadside services as needed.
- Research and order parts, accurately record usage, and assist in managing stock inventory.
- Complete electronic work orders and ensure all information is recorded in the computerized maintenance system.
- Assist team members with troubleshooting and repairs, researching parts, and inspecting equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following all Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Perform appropriate duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 years old.
- Class A CDL preferred.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies.
- Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines.
- Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets.
- Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology.
- Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems on light duty, heavy duty and material handling equipment.
- Ability to operate hand tools and others such as bench grinders, torch, drill press, jacks and jack stands, Sawzall, etc.
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedule as required.
- Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to ensure efficient use of time.
- Ability to work in a positive and productive team environment.
- Ability to show initiative, problem solving, technical skills, and demonstrate teamwork.
