Overview
The Ritual Works is a fabrication company specializing in manufacturing solutions across various industries. They are seeking an experienced Steel Profile Systems Fabricator to build fire-rated steel doors, screens, and partitions using advanced techniques and machinery.
Responsibilities
- Read technical drawings, approvals, and fabrication manuals; generate and verify cutting lists and machining data.
- Mitre, notch, and machine hollow steel profiles; install corner connectors and mechanical fasteners.
- Use crimping and press tools to achieve square frames with controlled leaf-to-frame gaps.
- Fabricate and weld hinge/backing plates, lock-case reinforcements, and sub-frames using advanced TIG/MIG welding.
- Control heat input and distortion to protect sightlines and coatings.
- Prep and fit hardware such as hinges and locks using system punching dies.
- Dry-glaze approved fire-resistant glass with appropriate materials.
- Work to EN 1634-1/-3, EN 16034 and UKCA/CE requirements; complete traceability records and inspections.
- Prepare assemblies for finishing and package them for transport.
- Operate and maintain fabrication equipment; perform routine maintenance.
- Liaise with engineers on tolerances and buildability; follow safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience fabricating fire-rated, slimline steel door/screen systems.
- Advanced welding proficiency in TIG/MIG on thin-gauge steel profiles.
- Ability to interpret and work to WPS/PQR and manage welding parameters.
- Coded welder qualification to BS EN ISO 9606-1 or equivalent.
- Strong metalworking skills including precision cutting and assembly.
- Confident in reading technical drawings and producing accurate cutting lists.
- Hands-on experience with system-specific tooling.
- Knowledge of fire and smoke control assemblies and their components.
- Experience dry-glazing fire-rated glass within approved compositions.
- High attention to detail and documentation discipline.
- Physical stamina for handling steel profiles and glazed units.
- Problem-solving mindset and strong commitment to safety and quality.
