Overview
The Welder position involves performing manufacturing duties with a focus on welding operations, ensuring product quality and meeting production standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding operations to manufacture products that meet quality requirements.
- Inspect and verify work prior to submitting for inspection.
- Meet time and schedule standards for assigned tasks.
- Keep equipment clean and maintain proper fluid levels.
- Use TIG welder to assemble fabricated metal products efficiently.
- Return all fixtures and tooling upon job completion.
- Advise supervision of issues that arise.
- Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues.
- Communicate effectively with other workers to direct personal workflow.
- Identify set-up reduction opportunities and Lean process opportunities.
- Properly use the E2 management system to meet all company standards.
- Assume other responsibilities as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to weld thin gauge material with good penetration and quality appearance.
- Ability to operate a TIG welder with MIG welding knowledge.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to operate various shop tools including hand tools and rolls.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical documents.
- A belief in continuous improvement and willingness to analyze and change processes.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Self-starter with ability to multi-task and prioritize work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to use various inspection gauges.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Valid Driver’s License.
