Overview

DoverMEI is a company that designs and delivers solids bulk material handling systems and project engineering solutions for various industries. The Welder/Fitter role involves interpreting fabrication drawings and performing welding operations to build and assemble bulk material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Interpret fabrication drawings and fit components.
• Perform welding operations to build and assemble bulk material handling equipment.
• Set up welding equipment and use various welding processes.
• Check alignment and dimensions of assemblies.
• Perform quality checks to ensure assemblies meet company standards and customer specifications.
• Collaborate with engineers and other shop personnel.
• Follow safety and housekeeping procedures.
• Maintain tools and equipment.
• Assist with troubleshooting and repairs on fabricated components as needed.

Requirements

• Strong welding skills, particularly in TIG Welding.
• Knowledge of materials used in industrial fabrication, including steel and alloys.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding symbols.
• Experience with fitting, cutting, grinding, and using shop tools and measuring instruments.
• Commitment to safety practices and familiarity with OSHA or similar safety standards.
• Previous experience in industrial fabrication, manufacturing, or equipment installation is preferred.
• Physical ability to lift and move materials, stand for extended periods, and work in a shop environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; welding certifications or vocational training are a plus.
