Overview

The Wind Technician Level 1 position is part of the Tech One Program (TOP), a structured career development initiative for entry-level wind technicians, created through a partnership between Sky Climber Renewables and Vestas Americas. Technicians receive exclusive safety and technical training and primarily work at wind site locations near their homes, ensuring safe and efficient wind turbine maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic mechanical installations, maintenance, operations, and upgrades following established procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of tools and use them safely.
• Dismantle and assemble basic machinery, components, and equipment.
• Accurately document all work performed.
• Follow all Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) procedures.

Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle record check.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Successful completion of a climb preview prior to hire.
• Associate’s degree in a technical mechanical field, wind energy discipline, or equivalent technical experience (preferred).
• Mechanical or electrical background (preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret basic diagrams and wiring schematics (preferred).
