Overview
PRIDE Industries is a fast-paced company dedicated to creating jobs for people with disabilities while providing high-quality solutions to customers nationwide. They are seeking an Instrument Mechanic II to install, repair, maintain, and adjust various instruments used in HVAC systems.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair complex HVAC control systems malfunctions.
- Inspect and evaluate HVAC control systems for necessary modifications.
- Disassemble malfunctioning instruments and test for defects.
- Troubleshoot equipment and replace or repair defective parts.
- Record and report abnormal functions of equipment.
- Provide sketches of field changes for engineering corrections.
- Develop solutions to complex HVAC system controls issues.
- Respond to system alarms and troubleshoot malfunctions.
- Monitor and inspect heating and cooling systems.
- Replace defective HVAC electrical and electronic controls.
- Monitor energy management control systems and respond to alarms.
- Observe pressure and vacuum gauges and adjust controls.
- Check distribution systems for proper operation.
- Respond to emergency calls after normal work hours.
- Follow procedures and guidelines to minimize errors and safety risks.
- Provide technical support to HVAC Mechanics and other departments.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Eight or more years of field experience servicing and repairing HVAC equipment.
- Ability to write and test modifications in multiple languages of system software.
- Comprehensive knowledge of computer operated HVAC control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics provided by manufacturers.
- Advanced knowledge of energy management control systems.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve advanced network operation problems.
- Knowledge of computer systems operation and network administration.
- Able to use industry hand and machine tools.
- Ability to read, interpret and work from blueprints and schematics.
- Advanced electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills.

- Work is performed at a customer’s location in various environments.
- May require driving to and from worksite locations.
