Overview

PRIDE Industries is a fast-paced company dedicated to creating jobs for people with disabilities while providing high-quality solutions to customers nationwide. They are seeking an Instrument Mechanic II to install, repair, maintain, and adjust various instruments used in HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex HVAC control systems malfunctions.
  • Inspect and evaluate HVAC control systems for necessary modifications.
  • Disassemble malfunctioning instruments and test for defects.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and replace or repair defective parts.
  • Record and report abnormal functions of equipment.
  • Provide sketches of field changes for engineering corrections.
  • Develop solutions to complex HVAC system controls issues.
  • Respond to system alarms and troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • Monitor and inspect heating and cooling systems.
  • Replace defective HVAC electrical and electronic controls.
  • Monitor energy management control systems and respond to alarms.
  • Observe pressure and vacuum gauges and adjust controls.
  • Check distribution systems for proper operation.
  • Respond to emergency calls after normal work hours.
  • Follow procedures and guidelines to minimize errors and safety risks.
  • Provide technical support to HVAC Mechanics and other departments.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Eight or more years of field experience servicing and repairing HVAC equipment.
  • Ability to write and test modifications in multiple languages of system software.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of computer operated HVAC control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics provided by manufacturers.
  • Advanced knowledge of energy management control systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve advanced network operation problems.
  • Knowledge of computer systems operation and network administration.
  • Able to use industry hand and machine tools.
  • Ability to read, interpret and work from blueprints and schematics.
  • Advanced electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills.

Additional Information

  • Work is performed at a customer’s location in various environments.
  • May require driving to and from worksite locations.
  • Employees may be exposed to hazardous substances and varying weather conditions.
