Overview

Thea Energy is a company focused on commercializing fusion energy through innovative stellarator technology. They are seeking an Engineering Technician to build, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Build, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Assist in developing new equipment, tools, procedures, and inspection techniques to reduce production time while maintaining high quality.
  • Responsible for tool and workspace organization and maintenance.
  • Assemble and troubleshoot test articles and supporting test equipment.
  • Collaborate to support development of manufacturing processes and tooling.

Requirements

  • High-school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in shop fabrication, manufacturing, research, or high-tech industry.
  • 5+ years of technical experience with mechanical or electrical systems, high pressure or high vacuum systems, cryogenic systems, plumbing, soldering, system testing, or power or controls systems.
  • Comfortable working to aggressive deadlines and exceptional work ethic.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite tools or similar software.

Additional Information

  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform activities such as typing, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call.
  • Ability to work in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics.
