Overview

Mechanic II positions involve performing preventative maintenance and general repairs on tractors and trailers to meet company and DOT standards. The role emphasizes quality, safety, and effective communication with drivers and clients, ensuring the fleet remains in top condition.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on tractors and trailers.
• Assist other technicians with tractor and trailer repairs.
• Conduct DOT inspections.
• Perform brake inspections and repairs.
• Service air systems and brakes.
• Diagnose and repair various systems of assigned equipment.
• Lift and install heavy components of CMVs.
• Ensure accurate charging of parts and labor to repair orders.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment compliant with OSHA standards.
• Perform welding and light fabricating.
• Ensure equipment is licensed and registered as 'roadworthy'.
• Practice safe work habits as outlined by the company.

Requirements

• 1+ years of mechanical experience.
• Possess necessary tooling to perform assigned duties.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Basic troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Ability to work any schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to utilize personal and laptop computers.
• Effective time management skills.
• Professional and courteous interpersonal skills.
• Experience moving trailers in and out of the shop.
