Overview
The Maintenance Mechanic II performs intermediate-level mechanical maintenance and repair tasks to support safe and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment. This role requires hands-on technical skills and a solid understanding of various mechanical systems, serving as a skilled contributor within the maintenance team.
Responsibilities
- Install, align, and maintain conveyor belt systems with limited supervision.
- Maintain and repair chain drive systems, tensioners, and lubrication systems.
- Inspect, diagnose, and replace worn or failing mechanical components.
- Perform intermediate fabrication and mechanical work, including drilling, tapping, mounting, and basic welding.
- Assist with the installation, repair, and adjustment of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks and mechanical inspections.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures using systematic problem-solving.
- Read and interpret mechanical schematics, equipment drawings, and technical manuals.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and support rapid restoration of operations.
- Provide guidance and hands-on support to Maintenance Mechanic I employees.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of industrial or mechanical maintenance experience.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, conveyor systems, and mechanical assemblies.
- Ability to interpret mechanical and hydraulic schematics.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS software.
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
