Job Description

Overview

This position is for a Project Structural Welder/Fitter with Worley on a construction project in Prudhoe Bay, AK, expected to last one to two years starting in July 2026. The role involves welding metal components for fabrication or repair, with a rotation of four weeks on and two weeks off.

Responsibilities

  • Lay out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms according to blueprints.
  • Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding using knowledge of geometry and welding techniques.
  • Position, align, and fit components together.
  • Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure them for welding.
  • Weld in various positions including flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead.
  • Examine welds for bead size and specifications.
  • Clean or degrease weld joints or work pieces.
  • Set up equipment and weld parts using various welding processes.
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
  • Complete records, maintain tools and equipment, and perform cleanup activities.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience in structural welding or equivalent education and experience.
  • Must pass structural weld test upon offer, including SMAW and FCAW welding process codes.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to be covered by Worley auto insurer.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) certification preferred.

Additional Information

  • Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources.
  • The typical schedule is 84 hours per week.
  • All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while on location.
  • Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.
