Overview

Nortek Data Center Cooling, a Madison Industries company, is seeking a Welder for their 1st shift. The company is a premier HVAC provider focused on energy-efficient and sustainable solutions, committed to quality and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Weld metal components together to fabricate or repair products according to shop blueprints and specifications.
• Use various welding processes including GMAW, GTAW, Arc Stud Welding, and Resistance Welding.
• Cut metal using oxy-acetylene, plasma cutter, or cutting discs following shop blueprints.
• Pass employer performance tests or standard tests to meet AWS certification standards.
• Operate equipment such as Shear, Chop Saw, Crane, Die Grinder, Notcher, Drill Press, Grinder, Bandsaw, Forklift, and Iron Worker.
• Work in a safe and efficient manner.
• Utilize lean practices to improve processes and maintain good housekeeping.
• Wear protective gear and equipment.
• Support Nortek's Core Beliefs and maintain a positive organizational culture.
• Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned by the manager.
• Support 'Lean Business Enterprise' initiatives for continuous process improvement.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to read measuring devices and blueprints.
• Knowledge of the tools of the trade.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and stand for prolonged periods on a concrete floor.
• Able to work independently and in a team environment.
• Able to pass a weld test and follow instructions.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; completion of some secondary/trade school technical courses is preferred.
• Requires a minimum of 3 years of similar work experience in welding or construction.
