Overview
As a Structural Steel Fabrication Welder (FCAW/GMAW), you will work in a fast-paced fabrication shop, transforming fabrication drawings and approved welding procedures into reliable welds. Your craftsmanship will contribute to complex builds, ensuring quality and precision in every project.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and weld structural steel in accordance with WPS, drawings, and quality requirements.
- Produce clean, precise welds using FCAW and GMAW; GTAW experience is a plus.
- Interpret drawings, weld symbols, and project specifications to plan work effectively.
- Verify proper fit-up, joint prep, and weld quality before striking an arc.
- Operate grinders, torches, and other fabrication tools safely and efficiently.
- Partner with teammates to meet deadlines and customer expectations.
- Promote quality, productivity, and continuous improvement in every task.
Requirements
- 3+ years of structural welding experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and welding procedures.
- Proficiency with FCAW and GMAW; GTAW familiarity is a plus.
- Knowledge of weld prep, fit-up verification, and distortion control techniques.
- Experience using grinders, torches, and related shop equipment.
- Ability to successfully pass company-required welding qualification tests.
- Strong attention to detail; able to work independently and as part of a team.
