Overview

The Welder position on the 2nd shift involves working in a manufacturing environment with a focus on safety and quality. The role requires expertise in welding techniques and the ability to read blueprints, with a shift schedule from 3:00 pm to 12:00 am, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow all safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment.
• Coordinate welder settings, gun speed/travel, and gas flow based on bead conditions.
• Read tape measures and blueprints to meet shop standards.
• Determine necessary adjustments or gun manipulations.
• Assess and repair pin holes and burn-throughs caused by an auto welder.
• Train and teach proper welding procedures according to manufacturing job procedures.
• Operate overhead cranes and other lifting equipment.
• Ensure beads meet specified shapes, sizes, and penetrations while maintaining product quality.
• Maintain correct numerical and alphabetical sequences.
• Implement continuous improvement practices in the work area.
• Complete other projects and duties as assigned by the Team Leader.
