Overview
The Welder position on the 2nd shift involves working in a manufacturing environment with a focus on safety and quality. The role requires expertise in welding techniques and the ability to read blueprints, with a shift schedule from 3:00 pm to 12:00 am, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Understand and follow all safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment.
- Coordinate welder settings, gun speed/travel, and gas flow based on bead conditions.
- Read tape measures and blueprints to meet shop standards.
- Determine necessary adjustments or gun manipulations.
- Assess and repair pin holes and burn-throughs caused by an auto welder.
- Train and teach proper welding procedures according to manufacturing job procedures.
- Operate overhead cranes and other lifting equipment.
- Ensure beads meet specified shapes, sizes, and penetrations while maintaining product quality.
- Maintain correct numerical and alphabetical sequences.
- Implement continuous improvement practices in the work area.
- Complete other projects and duties as assigned by the Team Leader.
