Overview

The Marine Engineer Assistant/Welder is responsible for the safe operation and repair of all systems onboard the vessel, ensuring that emergency systems are operational and performing routine maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safe operation and repair of all systems onboard the vessel.
• Ability to perform duties as outlined by the vessel Station Bill.
• Monitor and complete all repairs and preventive maintenance aboard the vessel.
• Ensure all emergency systems onboard the vessel are operational at all times.
• Perform maintenance rounds.
• Perform routine maintenance, including changing light bulbs, cleaning plumbing blockage, cleaning decks and overheads, and unloading trash.
• Perform potable water, fueling and sewage procedures.
• Assist in pulling new electrical and computer cables.
