Overview

The Pipe Welder - Mechanical Service is responsible for setting up equipment and welding pipes using Stick Piping & Weld and Tig. This role includes layout, assembly, and installation of pipes, with opportunities to learn the HVAC trade through installations and retrofits of new HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

  • Weld using Stick Piping & Weld and Tig to cut, repair, install, and perform retrofits on pipes and mechanical service.
  • Proficiently operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring/testing equipment.
  • Complete quoted projects and demand service calls while maintaining profitability.
  • Develop long-term relationships with customers and explain work performed to their satisfaction.
  • Perform sub-contractor management on quoted projects.
  • Participate in after-hours quoted projects as needed per customer requirements.
  • Safely drive a motor vehicle and trailer, adhering to company vehicle driving policy and safety requirements.
  • Purchase materials and issue purchase order numbers to suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and inventory stock on service vehicle.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two-year technical degree in a related field is preferred.
