Job Description

Overview

The Structural Steel Welder position requires the ability to produce acceptable groove and fillet welds in various positions using FCAW, GMAW, and SMAW processes. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of welding experience and be capable of working in physically demanding conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Produce acceptable groove welds on code and non-code work in flat, vertical, and horizontal positions.
  • Produce acceptable fillet welds on code and non-code work in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions.
  • Pass standard fillet break tests and bend tests on groove welds.
  • Be trained and certified in multiple positions and processes, including welding on fracture critical materials.
  • Use grinders and other hand and power tools commonly used in the welding industry.
  • Work in an open-air environment during various weather conditions.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Exhibit safety values consistent with State and Federal rules and regulations.
  • Work as part of a team and communicate effectively with supervision.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW welding processes.
  • Ability to pass standard fillet break tests and bend tests.
  • Experience using grinders and other hand and power tools.
  • Good level of hearing and vision for safety.
  • Ability to report to work on time and complete entire shifts.

Additional Information

  • This is a physically intensive job requiring standing, stooping, bending, lifting, and reaching.
