Overview
The Structural Steel Welder position requires the ability to produce acceptable groove and fillet welds in various positions using FCAW, GMAW, and SMAW processes. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of welding experience and be capable of working in physically demanding conditions.
Responsibilities
- Produce acceptable groove welds on code and non-code work in flat, vertical, and horizontal positions.
- Produce acceptable fillet welds on code and non-code work in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions.
- Pass standard fillet break tests and bend tests on groove welds.
- Be trained and certified in multiple positions and processes, including welding on fracture critical materials.
- Use grinders and other hand and power tools commonly used in the welding industry.
- Work in an open-air environment during various weather conditions.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Exhibit safety values consistent with State and Federal rules and regulations.
- Work as part of a team and communicate effectively with supervision.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW welding processes.
- Ability to pass standard fillet break tests and bend tests.
- Experience using grinders and other hand and power tools.
- Good level of hearing and vision for safety.
- Ability to report to work on time and complete entire shifts.
