Overview

The Welder Fabricator position at Aldridge involves reading blueprints, measuring, cutting, and assembling materials using various welding techniques in a fast-paced production environment. The role emphasizes safety, compliance, and maintaining a clean workspace while contributing to a culture of care and concern.

Responsibilities

• Report to work ready to perform assigned tasks using established safe work practices and prescribed personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Use proper tools and equipment correctly and ask a supervisor if knowledge is questionable.
• Attend and actively participate in all weekly safety toolbox meetings.
• Immediately report all unsafe behaviors, conditions, near misses, incidents, and injuries to your supervisor.
• Participate in all required safety training, including ongoing health training and the Green Hard Hat Program if assigned.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with company standards.
• Read and understand blueprints prior to starting a project.
• Measure and cut materials according to exact specifications.
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on project requirements.
• Set up components for welding according to specifications.
• Set up and operate hand and power tools common to the trade.
• Operate an angle grinder to prepare parts before welding.
• Operate specialized equipment after proper training and guidance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to weld in various positions and circumstances (vertical, horizontal, and overhead).
• Previous experience using mechanical or electronic tools.
• Ability to do formulas with fractions and decimals.
• Ability to work on your feet for 8+ hours and lift 40 or more pounds.
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety and actively promotes an IIF culture.
• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team.
• Positive attitude and enthusiasm for contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment.
