Overview
The Welder position in Hopewell involves bolting, clamping, and welding metal components for various products, including piping systems and structural shapes. Candidates must possess relevant experience and qualifications to perform welding tasks in different positions and environments.
Responsibilities
- Bolting, clamping, and welding metal components using arc and arc gas welding equipment.
- Welding in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Removing, fabricating, and welding fixed equipment repair panels.
- Performing welding repairs to boiler and exchanger tubes and tube sheets.
- Selecting equipment and planning layouts for assembly and welding.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Licensed Journeyman-level welder or completion of a state certified apprenticeship program.
- 5 years of industrial experience.
- 5 years of experience in welding.
- Knowledge of tools, principles, methods, and techniques used in pipefitting and welding.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and ability to comply with OSHA procedures.
- Ability to perform minor rigging and signaling of cranes.
- Ability to operate and maintain grinding equipment.
- Ability to fabricate and roll plate.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and isometric drawings.
- Ability to perform basic math computations.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
