Overview

Valtir has been an industry leader and global supplier of highway safety products for over 50 years. They are hiring a production welder for 3rd shift to support their Lima, OH manufacturing facility by applying appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other materials.

Responsibilities

• Performs flat fillet welds
• Fits and welds simple assemblies
• Accurately measures within specified tolerances
• Reads blueprints
• May operate automatic welding equipment (robotic welding)
• Observes all standard safety practices and maintains and completes all required records
• Follows all safety rules and practices
• May be involved in safety committees or initiatives

Requirements

• At least 1 year of related work experience
• Works on routine manufacturing assignments that have clear goals and standard procedures
• Understands Oxy Fuel Burning
• Basic Understanding of Carbon Arching
• Ability to learn job skill, company policies and processes to do routine tasks
• Ability to follow verbal or simple written instructions and procedures
• Receives detailed instructions and close supervision
• Ability to fit and tack weld subassemblies or to jacket
• Accurately measures within specified tolerances

Additional Information

• 3rd shift; Monday - Thursday 8PM - 6:30AM (Must be able to train on 1st shift)
• Conditions can be hot, cold, dirty, and noisy
