Overview

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, US Coast Guard, Industrial Department, Mechanical Group in Baltimore, MD. The role involves skilled tasks in the construction, repair, maintenance, overhaul, and conversion of various marine craft and vessels.

Responsibilities

• Set up system routes and place and cut route openings.
• Install regulating devices and place hangars for proper pitch and elevation.
• Determine and install risers, flexible branches, expansion joints, pumps, gauges, and pressure regulators.
• Replace sections of pipe and repair steam traps and relieving control valves.
• Cut, thread, and connect pipes using unions, flanges, and sweating.
• Test systems and equipment for proper operation, circulation, flow, pressure, and leak-free joints.
• Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of steam heating, water, and sanitary and storm drainage systems.
