Overview

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, US Coast Guard, Industrial Department, Mechanical Group, Pipe Shop in Baltimore, MD. The role involves performing various pipefitting tasks and requires mandatory training for success.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and common tasks following clear-cut instructions such as work orders, blueprints, bills of materials, and sketches.
• Lay out routine projects, take measurements, and make templates, jigs, and fixtures.
• Fabricate, install, modify, repair, and test piping and tubing made from various materials including iron, steel, brass, copper, and plastic.
• Use a variety of equipment and tools such as power hacksaws, hydraulic pipe benders, and pipe threading machines.
• Complete mandatory training and other training as necessary for success in the position.
