Overview

Valmont is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for an experienced Welder position. The company is a Fortune 1000 entity that focuses on advancing agricultural productivity and reimagining vital infrastructure to create a sustainable future.

Responsibilities

• Weld metal components together to fabricate or repair products according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders.
• Fuse or weld metal structural components together by means of arc welding in the fabrication of steel electrical poles and substations.
• Perform welding operations with limited planning from blueprints or specifications.
• Maintain and operate production tooling and fixtures as well as all welding equipment safely.
• May operate other machines in the shop as needed.

Requirements

• Two years of previous hands-on welding experience in a professional environment.
• Ability to pass a welding hands-on test and written assessment.
• Ability to pass and maintain weld certification to meet AWS, CWB, and other customer certifications in GMAW welding.
• Ability to read and decipher blueprints and flat sheets without assistance.
• Knowledge of visual weld quality, penetration, and appearance for finished shafts.
• Knowledge of how to accurately read a measuring tape.

• Compensation: $28.13/hour ($26.13/hour + $2.00 Shift Differential)
• Available Shifts: 3rd shift, Sunday - Thursday 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
