Overview

The Fabricator / Machinist position at Steel Dynamics involves welding and fabrication in both shop and field environments, along with general machining duties. The role requires performing all assigned tasks safely and efficiently under the supervision of a shift supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in basic electrode and MIG welding, including pipe fitting and pipe welding.
• Able to assemble steel structures utilizing fabrication drawings.
• Proficient in basic machine shop practices.
• Able to work without direct supervision.
• Able to work overtime when required.
• Perform all other jobs assigned by the shift supervisor.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of manual and CNC machining experience.
• Must complete Mechanical Aptitude Test.
• 2 years of verifiable work experience in an industrial environment (preferred).
• Completion of a recognized welding program or machine shop program (preferred).
