Overview
The Combination Welder will weld, fabricate, and assist pipe fitters in the installation of various types of industrial pipe into the project's piping systems, requiring a strong background in welding and the ability to work with multiple materials.
Responsibilities
- Weld metal materials to piping systems equipment using appropriate welding procedures.
- Select equipment and plan layouts, assembly, and welding.
- Layout, position, align, cut, assemble, and fit metal components together.
- Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure them in position for welding.
- Set up equipment and weld parts using various welding techniques.
- Assist pipe fitters in pipe installation, preparation, and fabrication.
Requirements
- Must have 4+ years of welding experience.
- Must be able to successfully pass a weld test.
- Must have the ability to weld in 2g, 4g, and 6g conditions.
- Must be able to Stick and Tig weld on Pipe.
- Must have experience welding multiple types of pipes including carbon steel, stainless, and chrome.
- Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- TWIC required.
- Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License with minimal infractions.
- Must be able to read blueprints and other engineering drawings.
- Must have thorough knowledge of various metals' characteristics and qualities.
Additional Information
- Will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting.
- Will work in weathering conditions including heat while wearing appropriate PPE.
- Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks, safety vests, gloves, and leather work boots.
