Overview

InPower is a newly-separated division of an electrical industry-focused holding company, historically part of All Current, which has provided solutions for electrical distributor partners since 1981. The company is seeking an experienced Lead Welder to oversee welding operations in their sheet metal fabrication department, ensuring high-quality workmanship and a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise daily welding operations in a sheet metal fabrication environment.
  • Assign work, monitor productivity, and ensure production schedules are met.
  • Perform MIG, TIG, and other welding processes on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
  • Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and compliance with company and customer specifications.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate welders and fabrication personnel.
  • Troubleshoot welding and fabrication issues to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Coordinate with engineering, quality, and production departments.
  • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintain production records and quality documentation.
  • Promote continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ welding experience.
  • 2+ years’ leadership experience.
  • Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand extended periods.
  • Experience welding both stainless steel and carbon steel sheet metal from 7 gauge - 18 gauge.
  • AWS certification.
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge.
  • Forklift/overhead crane experience.
