Overview
The Maintenance Supervisor 1 is responsible for supervising programs, staff, and operations at a park facility, ensuring the maintenance and repair of buildings, utility systems, and grounds. This role involves direct supervision of skilled and unskilled staff and requires a hands-on approach to maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Supervises and coordinates activities of skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled staff in park maintenance and repair work.
- Plans and lays out work, assigns staff, and provides instruction and assistance.
- Prepares written reports in response to assignments and work orders.
- Leads staff by emphasizing health and safety guidelines and providing training.
- Coordinates with higher management to address maintenance and repair needs.
- Determines needs for purchasing materials and contractor services.
- Completes purchasing requests and prepares supporting documentation.
- Evaluates park facilities for energy conservation and sustainability.
- Sets standards and assigns tasks based on daily operational needs.
- May serve as shift supervisor as assigned.
- Carries out other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- One year of trade experience after completing an apprenticeship or equivalent training.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license for New York State.
- Must be well versed in local building codes and able to read diagrams.
- Must be well organized with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Additional Information
- This position is 40 hours per week with evening, weekend, and holiday work required.
- May be required to report to other facilities throughout the New York City region as needed.
